Hi, I'm Jeanette Dunnavant, Limestone County Tourism Director. Are you planning a vacation or weekend get away? Maybe you are looking for something to do tonight. I want to invite you to visit Athens/Limestone County, Alabama which is located in the Tennessee Valley with the Tennessee River running along the southern end of the county and the Elk River defining the southwest boundary. Limestone County is in the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in northern Alabama. Filled with friendly people and progressive communities, the county stretches from the northern bank of the mighty Tennessee River to the southern boundary of the State of Tennessee.

Whether you are interested in a quiet morning walk, beautiful antebellum homes, birds, festivals, rodeos, tractor shows and pulls, hunting and fishing, horseback riding, picking cotton, shopping, or eating Southern style cooking, you will find it all in Athens/Limestone County, Alabama. Call me at 256-232-5411 or email jeanette@pclnet.net if I can help you with your plans. For a listing of current events and attractions, scroll down the page. Thanks for visiting our web site!
